Nurses based in our practice also treat patients for a wide range of common conditions and our Nurse Prescribers are qualified to prescribe from a range of medicines.

You can ask to have telephone advice from a health care professional.

Emergencies will always be seen by a health care professional, on the same day. Please remember this is for genuine emergencies only.

The practice will do all it reasonably can to provide effective health care for all its patients.

AccuRx Patient Triage

Our practice is using a new online system to allow you to get in touch with your GP practice in your own time, without having to wait on the phone to get in touch.

Every request will be reviewed by our practice team and we aim to get back to you with next steps in 2 days. If we feel that you need an appointment, you will be booked in via this route

Extended Practice Opening Hours

We now are offering additional morning appointments which can be booked in advance with the nurse. These appointments are on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 07:30.

Home Visits

Please make your request for home visits before 10 am if a visit is required that day. Only emergency visits will be arranged after that time.

This enables the doctor to plan their home visits efficiently.

Home visits are only done at the discretion of the doctors, so please do not ask for a visit unless the patient is genuinely too ill to come to the surgery.

Please remember that, particularly in the case of children who have fevers or rashes, the problem can be dealt with more quickly and efficiently in the surgery and any treatment, which may be prescribed, can be collected at the same time.

When you request a home visit, please give the receptionist full details of the patient’s name, address, age and reason for the visit.

We also need a telephone number where you can be contacted.

This information enables the doctors to prioritise their house calls.

Chaperone

If you feel that you would like a Chaperone present at your consultation, please inform the doctor/nurse who will be more than happy to arrange this for you.

Interpreter

If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
